Questions to ask your school about NNAT

A short conversation with the school can prevent choosing the wrong practice level or misunderstanding the purpose of testing. Keep these questions with the school notice.

Confirm the assessment

  1. Which assessment and edition will my child take?
  2. Which NNAT3 level is assigned?
  3. What is the testing date and the expected full session time?
  4. Will students use paper or a device?

Confirm practical arrangements

  1. Where should students arrive, and what should they bring?
  2. Who handles questions about approved accommodations or other arrangements?
  3. How will directions and the response routine be explained?
  4. What should we do if the child is absent or unwell?

Understand the purpose and report

  1. Why is the school administering NNAT3?
  2. How will the result be considered alongside other information?
  3. When and how will families receive results?
  4. Who can explain the score labels and next steps?
  5. Where can we find the current written program criteria or review process?
